All four artists deal with their version of romanticism. Laurie simmons started at a photographer who then moved on to finger puppet performances then ultimately to life size puppets in films. She even produced a movie with meryl streep as her lead actress! Towards the end she makes a play of ballet with the dancers are objects with legs. Lari Pittman is a painter who creates fake worlds in his paintings free of interpretation to anyone. None of the painting are curtailed to a curtailed group of people and our relatable. He also very attracted to religious portraits even though he is an atheist. Another object he is interested in is cactus's he has planted in his garden which frequently show up in his work. Judy pfaff works with many material but is mostly a sculptor and painter. The show focused on in her segment was one that revolved around loss since most everyone she loved had died the year before. There are a lot of contradictory pieces such as one's involving light and darkness and others of fire and water. Pierre Huyghe goes across the great channel in search for a land mass and craeture that he has hear rumors of. He then recreates what he had seen in a show in central park. What he has seen is represented by music and lights. He also works with puppets where he makes a movie about himself and the struggles he faced with in his art. Lastly he works with documentaries involving the movement of animals then finally humans.
