Videos

Video 1-
At times I was lost on what art he was referring to, because I had no previous knowledge of the art he recreated. He seemed to have a great deal of back round on Piero della Francesca however. Milton was also humorous at times and although his work is good he said he was embarrassed at times. I enjoyed the way he took the original portraits and recreated them as his own with interesting ideas.

Video 2-
In the beginning he shows a series of pictures that are comedic when he tells the story of their origin but also interesting to see how he finds them interesting. He finds that intuition is very important when making art. David finds that it can't be taught and you must be born with it. A lot of his art as he shows it involves nature and quotes that not necessarily are about nature but solidify a point he is trying to convey. I like how he was a surfer before hand, and I really like his new bathroom symbols signs. It's very interesting that he was a sociologist beforehand with no prior design experience.

Video 3-
All four artist deals with things we consume everyday.
Michael Ray charles deals does very comic book like and graphic portraits. He studies blackness, which all stared with a figurine he had received from a friend. All his work seems to come from a great deal of research and history. His is also very family oriented and cares a great deal for his children.
Matthew barney is a filmaker/sculptor. A lot of his performances and customs scare me to death and seem completely crazy. He has a series called cremastor which is driven from a sexual idea. His work, although creepy to me is compelling and I find myself not able to look away from the video even though I'm somewhat disgusted by what he creates.
Andrea Zittel is also very weird. She builds structures that are compact that include anything a person would need to live. She had high hopes for these types of works but when she was finished she felt depressed. Another weird attribute she has is that she wears the same thing everyday and only changes it four times a year. It seems dirty but she actually is extremely clean and organized.
Mel Chin started spawn where he takes the structure of abandoned and decayed houses and recreates them. He wants to make something that is living after he is gone but also reclaim an icon. Mel also work within the digital world here he creates this alternate realm of mazes made with carpets. He also is very interested in the environment  and makes a "science-art project" where plants are used to recreate a certain space.
